MUMBAI: Yash Raj Films' first slate of television shows on Sony Entertainment
Television (set) is ready for departure. Come 1 July, the five shows from the YRF banner Powder, Mahi Way, Rishta.com, Lift Kara De and Seven will be drawing to a conclusion.

As of now, the shows, each comprising 26 episodes, will be replaced with old properties like Aahat and re-runs of other shows. However, a new slate of YRF shows will be launched for the same primetime band once Sony's flagship property Indian Idol ends on 15 August.

As far as viewership is concerned, the average ratings for the shows remained stagnant under 1 TVR throughout.

However, YRF chairman Yash Chopra said, "We are very happy with the response to the first season of our shows which have come to their intended conclusion. They have lived up to our expectations of providing differentiated content to a discerning audience. Various shows are being planned for the second season on Sony and we will continue to strive to make meaningful shows."

For the second round, sources indicate that Mahi Ve and Rishta.com may see a come back. However, this time the channel will not launch all the shows at one go. Additionally, the number of YRF shows on Sony is also likely to fall.

Set EVP and business head Ajit Thakur said, "With Powder, Mahi Way, Rishta.com, Lift Kara De and Seven, the Sony-Yash Raj Films' partnership gave us an opportunity to experiment with fresh content for TV viewing in India. This partnership will be back with new shows soon."
