The hoardings of Mission Sapne, a show that features Bollywood celebrities taking up odd jobs to help out a common man, have grabbed eyeballs. But regular viewers of Marathi television will know that the concept was popularised by the hit Marathi show Bole Toh Malamaal which aired in 2011-2012.

The original focused on getting prominent Maharashtrian celebrities to live a day in the life of a common man. The celebs took his or her place at their day job to raise money which was multiplied by 100 and presented to the aam aadmi.

The remake features celebs like Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan and Varun Dhawan who have shot free of cost for two days.

Interestingly, both these shows have been produced by the same production house, Sobo Films. When contacted, Vikas Gulati of the production house, said, "We wanted to combine entertainment and philanthropy and so we recreated this show for a national audience."
