Monica Bedi, who plays the venomous Gumaan Vyas in 'Saraswatichandra', was apparently on a temporary break from the show. The reason, say sources, was that the actress wasn't too happy with the way her track was shaping up and so, decided to leave the show for an indefinite period.

Says a source, "Monica's track took off well and she became one of the prominent faces of the show. However, once the storyline shifted to Kumud's ( Jennifer Winget) home, she felt sidelined."

But the actress is back on the show after five months with a more prominent track. Informs the source, "Yes, it's true. She has been promised a better and meatier track." Monica says, "I am not allowed to comment on it. I never worry about someone else's track, but only focus on my work. So, feeling sidelined isn't true. There was no point doing the show just for close-ups."
