    Thumbs up Lakhbir Singh Lakha to make cameo in ‘Shubh Vivaah’

    Devotional singer Lakhbir Singh Lakha will make a special appearance in the opening episode of “Shubh Vivaah”.

    The show, produced by UTV Television, will go on air on Sony Monday.

    Lakha was been roped in for an innovative way to seek god’s blessings for the new show. He will be seen in a special performance in its opening episode of the show.

    He will pay a tribute to Mata Rani in a jagrata and will be joined by the cast, including Rakesh Bedi and his five onscreen daughters.

    Sony Entertainment Television is ready with its new fiction show Shubh Vivaah, the story of the average middle class girl in India.

    Set in present day UP, the show explores the lives of Mr Saxena and his five daughters. Saxena is a doting father whose only dream is to get his daughters married into respectable families. Since his wife's death, Saxena has been both a father and a mother to his daughters. The show has Eijaz Khan playing a rustic boy from UP and Neha Janpandit is paired opposite him. It also marks veteran actor Rakesh Bedi's comeback on the small screen.

    NP Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media says, "This year began with the launch of Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada. Our second fiction offering this year, Shubh Vivaah will enhance the existing bouquet of fiction shows. With a robust roll out for both fiction and non-fiction slated right across the year, 2012 promises to be an exciting year for us."

    Adds Sneha Rajani, Senior EVP and Business Head Sony Entertainment Television, "Having consolidated our fiction line up between 8 pm to 11 pm slot - Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Dekha Ek Khwaab, Saas Bina Sasuraal, Parvarish, Kya Hua Tera Vaada and Bade Acche Laggte Hain with Shubh Vivaah, we are extending our offering further. The show has a compelling story line, which will appeal to audiences across the Hindi heartland." Shubh Vivaah premieres on February 27.
