Now, a cookery show in a fiction format
"While the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, for women, it's the effort that matters. Just the fact that the man is in the kitchen is enough -— it doesn't matter how the food is," says Shweta Gulati, who plays Suhani Khanna in Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar, a new telly show.
The show revolves around new-age couple Suhani and Aditya Khanna, who, despite their busy professional lives, find interesting ways to spend time with each other. For example, they cook their daily dinner together. In the process, they realise that cooking is the best way to rekindle the magic in their relationship.
Through the couple, the show also offers its viewers a perfect opportunity to learn new, fun and easy recipes. "It's for the first time that this genre — the blend of a cookery show and fiction — has been tried. Men easily complain about the food cooked by their wives, but they don't realise that a lot of effort goes into cooking," says Arjun Bijlani, who plays Aditya.
Anooj Kapoor, EVP and Business Head, SAB TV, says, "This is India's first light-hearted fiction cookery show. It is a refreshing concept that will appeal to modern viewers."
Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar launches tonight and will air Monday to Friday at 7.30 pm on SAB TV.
