    Reduce the Spice in Food
    To tone down a dish that is too spicy, add coconut milk or yoghurt. A little sugar may also diminish some of the fire

    Reduce the Salt in Food
    To tone down a dish that is too salty, add lime juice, lemon juice, or tamarind water (made from a little tamarind paste mixed with water).

    Enhance taste but be careful
    Just 1-2 tsp of kasoori methi added to gravies enhances taste, but a little extra may make the gravy bitter.

    Make Tasteless Dish Tasty
    If your dish is tasteless or not too spicy, add more fresh (or dried) chillies, cayenne pepper, chilli powder, or a teaspoon of Thai chilli sauce (available in Asian stores).

    Remove Tomato Skins
    Peel tomatoes by placing them in boiling water for a minute or so and then plunging them into cold water. The skin will peel right off.
