Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is reportedly geared up for yet another tryst with British television.

In 2007, Shilpa’s participation in the UK’s 'Celebrity Big Brother' brought her international recognition after she won the reality show. Now, almost two years on, the lanky lass is set for another stint on idiot box in the UK.

According to the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old actress is believed to have been approached to play a member of a new Indian family in the popular and award winning soap opera ‘EastEnders’, which is about the domestic and professional lives of the people living in a fictional borough of Walford in East London.

Now, the show’s bosses want to add an Indian family to bring in the multi-cultural atmosphere of East London to the soap. The move makes all the more sense after the stupendous success of Slumdog Millionaire .

“EastEnders would be the springboard to long-term success in Britain - and that is very much in Shilpa's sights. She knows all about the show as it is a big hit in her homeland - and of course it is popular with a lot of Indians in the UK,” the newspaper quoted the People as saying.

Shetty has already created a work base in London by buying a seven-bedroom, 5 million pound house in Weybridge, Surrey.

If she indeed agrees to act in ‘EastEnders’ it would be her first major foreign assignment since winning 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

Presently, Shilpa is busy with the preparation of the upcoming IPL season which will be held in South Africa.
