Akshay Kumar turns writer! He has penned neither a book nor a film, but the actor has collaborated to write a comic book titled ‘Soldiers of Earth’.

In fact, Akshay’s new role of a writer is for a noble reason; the comic book is aimed at teaching the kids about the betterment of environment. ‘Soldiers of Earth’ is a sort of educational programme jointly by ONGC, Oil and Natural Gas Company and The Energy And Resources Institute TERI.

Madhu Singh Sirohi, head of TERI Press and publisher of the comic book, reveals to a tabloid, “Akshay has agreed to lend his support to promote environmental awareness among children. Akshay has already conceptualised the story line of an action-packed adventure story for the comic book much like the exciting superhero novels of Captain America.”

She also adds that Akshay is the Cause Champion. The Cause Champion is also the fifth major character in the 48-page comic book. The comic strip features four kids with superpowers who try to solve the problems related to environment.

The Bollywood star will be part of an animation clip about the programme. He is also the ambassador for this special initiative and will visit various schools across India, teaching and preaching how to save mother earth.

Akshay, who is waiting for his 8x10 Tasveer and Blue to release, is quoted as saying that he revisited his ‘Chacha Chowdhury’ and ‘Saboo’ days while doing this comic book.
