Not many people in Bollywood seem to be in the mood to celebrate Holi this year.

Was a time when Raj Kapoor’s RK Studios in Mumbai used to be the favourite haunt of film celebrities on every Holi. Gulal, hard colour and gallons of water would be at disposal of those who dared to celebrate the festival of colours in no-holds-barred spirit. Over the years, the Bachchan residence became the hotspot where celebs would descend on every Holi.

But since last few years, the spirit of Holi has been missing at the Bachchans’ too. The demise of Amitabh Bachchan’s father, and later mother, did understandably not call for any celebrations. This year, too, Amitabh Bachchan has clearly stated that there won’t be any Holi celebrations at their residence.
Why? Because the family deems it unfit to celebrate when the memories of 26/11 terror attacks are still fresh in the minds of Mumbaikars.

On the other hand, there are actresses like Bipasha Basu and Urmila Matondkar who prefer to stay away from colours on Holi. No points for guessing that they’ll be staying indoors on Wednesday. Another actress who plans to stay indoors is Preity Zinta , who wants to rest after her long flight back home from New Zealand.

Shahrukh Khan still has his one arm in a sling and is likely to stay away from any Holi revelry.

And there are others who’d be working on Holi. Abhishek Bachchan would be shooting in Kolkaka, Hurman Baweja and Genelia D'Souza would be shooting their film It's My Life in Delhi.

The only ones who seem to be in the mood to celebrate are Shilpa Shetty (she’ll have a party at home), Irrfan Khan (who has every reason to rejoice after ‘Slumdog’), Celina Jaitley (she plans to celebrate with the crew of a film she’s shooting for).

Last but not the least, Anil Kapoor , who’s been walking on the air since attending the Oscars where Slumdog Millionaire swept the board, plans to have a huge Holi celebration with his family, including daughter Sonam Kapoor .

We wish all a Happy Holi.
