'Slumdog' child actors to star in Bollywood film
From the squalid slums of Mumbai to the blinding arc lights of Bollywood, the child actors of Slumdog Millionaire have taken their second step.
Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina Ali, who played the young Salim and Latika in the multiple Oscar winning film by Danny Boyle, have already been where even stars like Shahrukh Khan haven’t forayed – right into the heart of Hollywood at the Oscar night.
Now the two kids, who actually hail from slums, have been roped in by producer Vashu Bhagnani for his upcoming production Kal Kissne Dekha . The movie is the launchpad of his son Jacky Bhagnani .
“There is an airport sequence in the film where these children are returning home after attending the Oscars and are caught in some kind of chaos. I am the one who saves them,” Jacky Bhagnani is quoted by a news agency.
The debutant went on to add that the two kids have become quite popular after the success of ‘Slumdog’.
“It was dad's idea to have Azhar and Rubina in the film. With the success of Slumdog Millionaire they are very popular and people would easily relate to them in the movie,” he added.
Interestingly, the movie, being directed by Vivek Sharma, will reportedly have guest appearance by Shahrukh.
so happy for them. Go kids!
