A sneak peek at 2012

Welcome 2012. The year holds out a promise of an interesting mix of Bollywood releases for any movie addict. Action, romance, drama, comedy, crime, suspense, thriller: everything is on the platter this year.

For starters, we have two big films by Salman Khan lined up for 2012, and two from Aamir Khan as well. Then we can expect some women-oriented films like Heroine, Dangerous Ishq and Kahaani, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Vidya Balan respectively.

After a terrific performance in Rockstar, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing a deaf and mute character in Anurag Basuís Barfee. On the other hand, ex lovers Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor reunite in Kunal Kohliís film Teri Meri Kahani.

Hereís the lowdown on what 2012 has to offer in terms of Bollywood entertainment.

A lot of people have been waiting to see if Hrithik Roshan can reprise the role so convincingly immortalized by the inimitable Amitabh Bachchan. However, comparisons may be to no use because the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan that Hrithik Roshan plays in Agneepath is very different from the one Big B played in Mukul Anandís film in 1980.

Dhoom 3

Easily one of the most anticipated films of the year, Dhoom 3 will see Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif pairing up for the first time. Aamir Khan has already started preparing for his role and trust Mr. Perfectionist to add an extra oomph to his character.

Ek Tha Tiger

Ex lovers Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif return in director Kabir Khanís film Ek Tha Tiger. Salman plays an agent of INdian secret service, on a mission to thwart the terrorists from getting their hands on a dangerous technology. The film has been shot in Dublin and Istanbul.

After hitting a big bump with Aishwarya Raiís pregnancy, Madhur Bhandarkarís project Heroine took off again with a different leading lady: Kareena Kapoor. The film is clearly one of the most eagerly awaited.

Aamir Khan plays a cop in Talaash, directed by Reema Kagti and co-starring Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee. Aamir says the filmís script is so good that he didnít think twice before agreeing to sign it.

Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra play deaf and mute characters in Barfee. The film has been shot in Darjeeling and Kolkata. It also stars Ileana.

Teri Meri Kahani

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra rekindle their onscreen romance with director Kunal Kohliís film ĎTeri Meri Kahanií.

Dangerous Ishq

Directed by Vikram Bhatt, Dangerous Ishq will be the comeback film of Karisma Kapoor. The film spans almost five centuries and tells five different stories set in as many time periods. For instance, thereís a story set in the late 15th century that has Karisma Kapoor playing Mirabai. Another story is set during the partition of India, and still another in 1984 at the time of the assassination of Indira Gandhi. Karisma Kapoor will be seen in different looks in the film.

Agent Vinod

Saif Ali Khanís much delayed project Agent Vinod will hopefully be complete and release this year. Kareena Kapoor is Saifís leading lady in the movie.

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha will regale the movie buffs in director Shirish Kunderís film Joker.

Dabangg 2

Arbaaz Khan is ready to hold the directorial reins and direct brother Salman Khan in Dabangg 2, the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg.
