There are many instances of creative people getting involved in jobs other than those they specialize in. And almost all of them have been major success stories. Now add Ismail Darbar's name to this list. Ismail Darbar, known for his memorable musical score in HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM and DEVDAS, is all set to direct a film.
"Directing a film was on my mind since quite some time," Ismail Darbar tells me, "I was waiting for the right financier to back the project. I wanted someone who would give me the freedom to make the movie exactly the way I visualized it. I didn't want an interfering person to back my dream project. Finally, I found the right person in a non-film personality. He's a gem of a person. He's an entrepreneur from a non-film background."
Ismail has been working on the script for the past one year and has already recorded nine songs in these one-and-a-half years. "It's a love story and the best tracks will be retained in the film," the talented composer reveals. The casting, he adds, will be finalized once the scripting is complete.
