Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap could well be directing Shah Rukh Khan in his next film, having dropped out from Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2, if what we hear is true.
It’s not that Shah Rukh lured Kashyap away from the Salman Khan camp. What we are hearing is that Arbaaz just wasn’t ready to reward Kashyap in any way for the success of Dabangg – Not by giving a better paycheck, nor by giving him more control over the project.
Following Dabangg’s superb box-office run, Kashyap got many lucrative offers from other producers, but being a Salman Khan family loyalist, he spurned them without thought. He felt indebted to Salman and Arbaaz for having given him a big break.
Ultimately, Arbaaz Khan’s refusal to hike Kashyap paycheck, and thereby acknowledge his contribution to Dabangg’s success, started to pique Kashyap, who recalled how the Khan brothers had repeatedly interfered with his editing of the film.
A source tells that having parted with the Salman Khan camp, Kashyap may now well taken on an offer from Shah Rukh Khan to direct him in a mad masala film like Dabangg. The offer involves a substantial paycheck hike, not to mention the opportunity to direct Bollywood’s reigning badshah.
