In Sujoy Ghosh’s next film Aladdin we could have had the father-son duo of Amitabh and Abhishek playing the Genie and Aladdin. But it didn’t happen.

Why? Because it was Amitabh Bachchan himself who wasn’t interested in working with his son Abhishek Bachchan .

It happened that when Sujoy Ghosh went to Amitabh with the script, the actor convinced him not to consider his son for the role of Aladdin, as both Amitabh and Abhishek were working together, and still are, in another project by the Cheeni Kum director Balki – a movie named Pa where, according to reports, Abhishek plays Amitabh’s father, quite surprisingly.
As the father-son duo has worked together in a good number of films, Amitabh wasn’t enthusiastic about sharing the screen space with Abhishek in yet another movie. Hence he suggested Sujoy to take another young actor for the role of Aladdin. And Sujoy signed his buddy Ritesh Deshmukh for the film. Ritesh is also a good friend to Abhishek. The movie also introduces Sri Lankan model Jacqueline Fernandez , who is paired opposite Ritesh.

‘Aladdin’ is almost complete and director Sujoy Ghosh is happy with way it has shaped up. He describes his film as a visual delight and claims that the movie is on the lines of ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ series with all the special effects.

The mega budget movie also has Sanjay Dutt who plays a villain.

But the USP of the film would be the Genie for which Big B has tried various looks.
