Pakistan will have to play without Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir
The pathetic news for Pakistan cricket supporters is that their key players- Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir have been banned for long time for their allegedly involvement with sport fixing.
Salman Butt will not be allowed to play any cricket game for ten years following Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir who received suspension for seven years and five years respectively for same charge.
The tribunal comprised of three men; Michael Beloff QC, Sharad Rao and Justice Albie Sachs, announced the suspension in Doha on 5 February 2011.
Both Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir have been claimed for doing ‘no balls’ at pre-arranged times. When it happened, Salman Butt was the captain of Pakistan cricket team. It is also heard that Majeed was paid 150,000 pounds for revealing the timing of the no-balls.
This punishment has ensured their unavailability to play at the ICC World Cup 2011 for Pakistan cricket team. Their absences have created a big problem for the national cricket team.
These three were important players for Pakistan cricket team. Both Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir duo become the backbone of Pakistani bowling line up while Salman Butt emerged as an important batsman in the opening stand.
Pakistan cricket team will suffer for the absence of these three players. What will happen if they fail prove their innocence?
