Earlier there were sequels of big screen movies but now it seems that the concept of going in sequels has also boiled down to the small screen shows with the production houses planning for the same after the closure of their first versions. Most of the production houses have already started working on the sequels or have made an initial announcement to start with them at the earliest.
The latest to join the bandwagon is Zee TV’s popular daily soap “Punar Vivah” which is on the verge of closure soon. Keeping in mind the show’s popularity, the channel and its producers Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt. Ltd have stuck upon an idea of exploiting its success as a brand value.
The makers feel that as a brand name “Punar Vivah” the show can narrate new stories and fresh ideas. Hence after the show going off air the channel will soon announce the comeback of the show but not as “Punar Vivah 2” but with a different identity. The new show will have all fresh faces and characters and will have no relation with the current story featuring Gurmeet Choudhary and Kritika Sengar. Auditions for the fresh set of actors are on in full swing.
