After making an appearance on “Bigg Boss”, the controversial actress of Bollywood, Monica Bedi, is once again set to be seen in, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus small screen love story, “Saraswatichandra”. She essays the role of, male lead Gautam Rode’s, stepmother.
Her character is a negative one, of a younger woman married to an elderly person. Monica, who was in the news for all the wrong reasons, has absolutely no qualms about essaying the negative character. In fact she is happy, citing the examples of the negative characters, standing out apart, be it movies of television shows. Kajol in “Gupt”, Simi Grewal in “Karz” and Tapasya in “Uttaran” are a proof enough of the same.
For Monica, “Saraswatichandra” is her debut on the small screen, as far as fiction shows are concerned. Having played lead roles in number of films, she wanted to try out something different and challenging. Getting type casted in negative characters is the last thing on her mind. Having lead a controversial life in the past, Monica is thankful to the Almighty for giving her a second chance to prove herself.
