Her looks take you back in time when the heroines were all about being coy and graceful. It comes as a no surprise then, that actress Aakanksha Singh’s role models are, Jaya Bachchan and Smita Patil. Hailing from city of Jaipur, Aakanksha has managed to put her career on the right track.
Although she is only in her mid twenties, Aakanksha is convincingly playing the role of a 40 year old, in her show, “Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha” season 2. On being asked about the feeling of awkwardness about having to play mother to a girl of her age, Aakanksha cites the example of actor, Anupam Kher, who started his career playing a sixty year old, although he was in his late twenties.
According to Aakanksha it is not an easy survival in Mumbai for small town girls like her. Her advice to such girls coming with dreams in their eyes and making it big in the glamour industry is, to always keep a second option of career open.
Aakanksha herself is studying physiotherapy and if at all god forbid, she stops getting roles, she has the option of falling back on her alternate career.
