She is a role model for many a young girls of today’s generation, but there was a time when she too was victim of molestation, which is the current ongoing problem in the capital city. Sakshi Tanwar shared her experiences of having gone through the molestation problems herself during her young days, when she had to travel by DTC buses. The event was the launch of, One Billion Rising, a movement initiated by woman’s right activist and world renowned author, Eve Ensler.
Sakshi when she had to face the problem for the first time, she was sacred about the whole thing and all she could do was cry, remembering the whole incident. It was at that time that her family, including her mother and sister, gave her the moral support and asked her to boldly face the situation.
Having got the full support of her family, Sakshi never hesitated to speak her mind, the next time she came across such incidents. Sakshi had one word of advice to all the parents of the young girls that come whatever they should always stand by their daughters instead of putting the blame on them about staying out late. Girls are always advised to ignore the issue thereby giving a boost to the eve-teasers actions.
