Her shows have always taken inspiration from Bollywood or Hollywood movies, examples being, “Kya Huaa Tera Vaada” heavily inspired from, Salman Khan starrer “Biwi No 1” and, “Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani” loosely based on the Hollywood hit, “The Twilight Saga”.
For her latest upcoming show, Ekta Kapoor, has turned to Manju Kapur’s novel, “Custody” for the story idea. The plot and the characters of her show will be based on this novel and the show will air on ‘Star Plus’. The actors are yet to be finalized and the hunt for suitable characters is on.
The basic premise of the novel is, about a girl named Shagun, who ditches her husband, Raman, for the sake of another man in her life. Raman takes the legal course for getting the custody of their two children. Two names of actors, Iqbal Khan and Anupriya Kapoor, are in consideration, for playing the leads. Anita Hassanandani, a regular of Balaji Telefilms, may be seen playing a cameo role.
