As far as possible actors refrain from being typecast in negative roles, but Simran Kaur has a different take on the issue. She has taken up the role of a witch in her latest show, “Anamika” as a challenge to prove her versatility. Having previously played the role of, Diya, in the recently concluded show, “Na Aana Is Des Laado”, she was waiting for the right role to come her way.
When the role of “Anamika” was first offered to her, she was a bit wary of playing a role that was out and out negative character. But the producers laid her doubts to rest by assuring her that, it is a grey character and with lots of scope for her to perform. Keeping up the faith in them she went by her instincts and accepted to play the witch (chudail).
However her soft features and looks were proving to be a hurdle in looking convincing for the role, Simran had to work extra hard on her expressions and mannerisms to look the character. Her character is out to create trouble in the smooth life of Jeet and Rano, who are about to get married. The show will spring up surprises every now and then. “Anamika” airs on ‘Sony TV’ at 8 pm.
