There was a time when Smriti Irani was the undisputed queen of the daily soaps; having started her career with, Ekta Kapoor’s longest running show, “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, where she essayed the role of an ideal daughter-in-law, Tulsi. Then came the rumors of her fall out with, Ekta Kapoor, and she was not seen on the small screen for a very long time.
Her contemporaries of during that period, Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy and Sakshi Tanwar, however are busy with their careers and doing teleshows, by dime a dozen. So what exactly is the reason for Smriti’s absence? Smriti attributes her absence to opting for marriage and political commitments. In between she did some odd regional movies to satisfy her cravings as an actor.
However now a one again, Smriti has decided to return back to the television fold, and will be soon seen hosting a crime based show. Also her so called differences between her mentor, Ekta and herself, are sorted out, as claimed by Smriti.
She is hopeful that whenever in future, Ekta approaches her with a suitable role; she is more than willing to play the same. As they say nothing is permanent in the glamour world, neither the friends nor the enemies.
