The television industry works on the lines of herd mentality, one show achieving success, everyone is in line to follow the same pattern, as is the case with, ‘Life OK’s’ show, “Devon Ke Dev Mahadev”, every channel wanted to launch a show having a mythological base.
The result was, ‘Zee TV’, coming up with “Ramayan”, and ‘Colors’, announcing their ambitious venture, “Durga”, as a competition to the ‘Life OK’ show. the ‘Colors’ show, “Durga”, which is being made by, Sagar Arts, took a long time to go on the floors, as the channel wanted it to be larger than life, and worthy of giving tough competition to, “Mahadev”.
Finally after a long time, showing complete satisfaction in the show, the channel has given its go ahead signal to the production house. Now that the teasers of the show are out, it will be aired soon.
According to FilmiTown sources, the title role of, “Durga”, will be played by, Bengali actress, Piyali Munshi. The show goes on air somewhere in middle of December 2012, and will replace the, Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions show, “Kairi”.
