Though Raj Zutshi is doing a fine job, as Balraj Chaudhary, in the show, “Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon”, it was Kiran Karmarkar who was the original choice of the production house, for the role. Kiran Karmarkar, who is seen essaying the role of Tej Singh Bundela, in the show, “Uttaran”, has his own reasons for refusing the role.
Firstly he was busy with his show, “Zindagi Kahe… Smile Please”, on ‘Life OK’ and secondly he wanted to avoid playing fatherly roles which he is being offered after “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki”. After his show “Zindagi Kahe…Smile Please”, went off air, Prashant Bhatt, programming head of ‘Colors’ , offered him the role of Tej Singh Bundela, in “Uttaran” which Kiran lapped up as he found the character to be an interesting one.
Kiran also kept himself busy with his other love, theatre, during the time he was waiting for some interesting shows to come his way. He is also a regular in Prakash Jha’s films, having acted in “Raajneeti” previously and now to be seen in his forthcoming movie, “Chakravyuh”, in which he essays the role of a corrupt politician. Well all we can say is, Kiran’s loss is Raj’s gain.
