It is a wrong notion that actors don’t look beyond them and are insensitive to the social causes. Recently actors, Rucha Hasabnis of “Saathiya” fame, and Zeb Khan, shot for a social message giving short film, at Kolhapur. Directed by, Vidya Sagar Adhyapak, whose movie “Gateway to Heaven”, has gone to win many an awards, gives out a strong message against the social evil of female foeticide.
Zeb and Rucha enact the role of a couple, where Rucha is shown pregnant with an unborn girl child. Her in-laws, played by Smita Oak and Yatin Karyekar, force her to abort the unborn child, due to their preference of having a male child. The husband, Zeb Khan, is shown torn between his duties and responsibilities towards his parents and his wife.
The short film ably made, is aiming at getting an entry in the Film Festival. The main leads have just come back from Kolhapur, after completing the shoot. It was a unique experience working in the film, for Zeb Khan. Hope that the movie manages to create the right awareness in the minds of the people.
