As informed earlier, beautiful and talented actress Jhumma Mitra, will be soon seen in, Eagle Telefilms’ forthcoming show, “Jeannie Aur Juju”. Jhumma is a bundle of talent, having done various shows and stage plays, essaying variety of roles, in her career.
Recently she has been signed to play an author backed woman oriented role in “Savdhan India – India fights back”, for ‘Life OK’ channel. She gets ample opportunity to display her versatility, in the show, where she plays the main protagonist, Devika Mohanty. Jhumma essays the role of a lower middle class girl of Odisha. She comes across as a bold and rebellious woman, who if need be, is shown standing up for the right cause.
In the show, “Savdhan India”, she is shown taking up the cudgels against a minister and his corrupt practices, thereby incurring the minister’s wrath. She has just finished shooting for a very crucial scene, shooting which; she even hurt herself in the process. It was a chase scene in a flowing river, during which she got bruised all over.
But in the end, the pain of her injuries, seemed too little, in front of the satisfaction that she has derived by enacting such a powerful role. Jhumma Mitra feels that her role will be an inspiration for every woman and she will consider herself lucky, if she can make a contribution, however small, to the awakening process of the country.
