Television shows taking inspiration from Bollywood and Hollywood films is not something new. But getting inspired is one thing, lifting the subject and converting it into a serial is taking things too far. The much hyped show on ‘Sony Entertainment Television’ “Honge Juda Na Hum”, which launched on 10th September, promises to be a love story with a difference.
But looking at the story line, one can easily identify, that the story of the show is a direct lift from Hollywood movie “The Vow”, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. The show “Honge Juda Na Hum” opens by showing the central characters, Rohan and Muskaan, played by Raqesh Vashisth and Aamna Shariff respectively, meeting as strangers.
But a flashback in the show reveals that they are in fact married to each other but both suffering from a memory loss due to an accident. The premise of the plot is very much same as the Hollywood movie.
The show produced by Shri Adhikari Brothers, though in a different league from the regular saas-bahu drama, cannot be considered as original creation. Aamna Shariff is making a comeback on the show after a very long time since her last show “Kahiin Toh Hoga” which was years back. Her pairing with Raqesh Vashisth is being touted as next big thing on the television screen.
