Korn ready to please metallic music lover in you

New Delhi, Sep 4 It’s going to be a headbanging session for lovers of heavy metal beats as the pioneers of metallic music — the Korn music group — will make way to set the stage on fire Thursday in Gurgaon.

The four member band consisting of front-man Jonathan Davis, guitarist James Shaffer, drummer Ray Luzier and bassist Reginald Arvizu will be presenting a mix of old an new songs in their album “The Path Of Totality” that have won the hearts of many around the globe and will present during their tour in India.

The band looks forward to spending a great evening and going to hit the stage with zero idea of what to do, says Davis.

“It’s fun to explore new places. So finally we are here and we are very excited,” the front-man of the band said in a conference here Monday.

“I am just going to do what we do. That’s it. I know about Indian beats but I know nothing about rock shows in India,” he added.

The group was formed in 1989 as Laugh As People Die but changed their name to Korn after a suggestion from a fan. It has given some well appreciated hard music albums like “Untouchables”, “See You On The Other Side”.

They have achieved numerous accolades with their albums winning Grammy Awards and reaching the top ten on the Billboard 200.

“The Path Of Totality” has songs like “Chaos lives in everything”,”Get Up” and “Way To Far”, but asked if the lyrics can be a problem for them, like it has been in the past, Davis admits they cannot please everyone and that is not what they are looking forward to do.

“We don’t really care. We have done many albums and we are really proud of it. We cannot make everyone happy,” he said. “So, artistically, we are making ourselves happy and the fans just come along.”

A prominent feature at the gig will be introduction to dub stepping, a genre of electronic dance music, which has been introduced in their music for the first time.

“I heard it and I kept thinking about it. I got such great vibes. We experimented it (with music) and then thought it was great,” Davis said.

Although, the band is new to Indian music, but they believe in music being a universal language.

“I think there is a metal culture in every part of the world. Music is a universal language that brings people together,” Davis said.

With BookMyShow.com as the ticketing partner of the gig, the band will perform in Mumbai and Bengaluru Sep 7 and Sep 9 respectively after Gurgaon.
