Every television actor, however big or small, dreams of seeing himself on the big silver screen one day. Bollywood is the obvious choice of all the actors, after making it on the small screen. But all are not lucky enough to make a break through, except for a few lucky ones, like Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gupta, being the recent examples.
Stepping into Bollywood is not a easy task, as many a struggling small screen actors will vouch for. They have not even been provided the opportunity of getting even an audition test. People from the film industry are somehow averse to te idea of casting TV actors in their movies. The common feeling being that, small screen actors are over exposed, hence the charm is lost to the viewers.
Karan Tacker, of “Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai” fame, acknowledges the sentiment. The general feeling of the Bollywood directors are, small screen actors lacking the required talent needed to make it big on the silver screen. And also their popularity with the masses being limited to homes or till the show is accepted by the audiences. Karan himself is in the process of finalizing some big screen projects.
