It is a confirmed fact that wedding sequences work for the betterment of the shows, raising the TRP’s a notch higher. Hence the makers of various shows safely go ahead and add such sequences to retain the viewer’s interest in their shows.
But many of the producers of such shows, in a bid to revive the falling TRP’s, are going a step further and incorporating sequences of re-marriages. Couples, who are already married with each other on the show, are getting married once again.
Examples being, Viraj and Sia of “Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava”, Jagat and Gauri of “Balika Vadhu” and last but not the least, Arnav with Khushi of “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon”.
The thought of a romantic remarriage, is what tempting the actors to take the plunge. The wedding scenes are replete with dance and celebrations, featuring various ceremonies like, sangeet, haldi and mehendi. It is a safe bet for the makers to grab the eyeballs of the audiences. Therefore it is can be said that it is raining, not marriages, but remarriages on the small screen.
