The show is a big step in helping bridge the gap between the rival countries, India and Pakistan. Producer Gajjendra Singh is coming out with a musical reality show that will feature talent from across the borders of Pakistan as well as India.
The show titled, ‘Sur Kshetra’, is the first of its kind that will be simultaneously shown on Indian as well as Pakistani channels. Initially the show was supposed to be aired on Star Channel, but due to some reasons, the promoters decided to telecast the show on Sahara Television. Also it was for the first time that an audition for an Indian reality show was taking place in Pakistan.
The audition took place in the three major cities of Pakistan namely, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Ten contestants were shortlisted, who will now compete with the ten contestants selected from Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
Famed actor-singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya and Pakistani pop king Atif Aslam will be captaining their respective teams in ‘Sur Kshetra’. The judges for the show will be singers Asha Bhosle and Abida Parveen, along with Ghulam Ali, who will be the judge for one special episode. Actress Ayesha Takia, who was last seen in the movie ‘Wanted’, will host the show. The show is expected to be aired sometime in September-October 2012.
