Never say die spirit of A K Hangal

A few months back he was fighting for his survival, against poverty and ill health. The veteran actor of many a hit films had made his presence felt with his power packed performance. Avtar Kishan Hangal, better known as A K Hangal was in bad shape financially and physically at the ripe age of 97.

However as they say an actor in a person never dies irrespective of his age. With over 200 odd films to his credit, he will be once again seen on the small screen with the new show, ‘Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon’. He will be playing himself in the show.

When the makers approached him with the offer to act, there was childlike excitement that one could see in his eyes. In spite of his health complications, he shot for the scene giving a one-take shot. He even came on the sets wearing his own costume.
