‘Indian Idol’ auditions dogged by controversy and high drama

What are reality shows without their dose of drama and controversies? But this time the drama was enacted not in front of camera, but during the auditions of “Indian Idol 6″ in Lucknow.

A youth named Sanchit Mishra who was denied entry into the auditions on technical grounds threatened to immolate himself in front of everybody. He was overpowered by the security personnel after he brought two bottles of petrol and tried to empty it on himself.  The nuisance stopped only after the co-ordinator of the Lucknow auditions, Jasminder Singh granted him the entry inside.

Here he was rejected by the judges who listened to his songs. The incident was condemned by many people namely Anu Malik and Mini Mathur who are closely associated with the show. They said that these types of cowardly acts serve no purpose in life and in no way help the person to make it big and successful. Also it sends wrong signals about reality shows in the minds of the people.
