Owing to the promise of the makers of the TV soap “Jamuna Paar” that it was a love affair about a rich girl and a working class boy in Delhi, the audience expected a great showcase of the busy capital city and the unique Jamuna Paar area accompanied by the luxurious bungalows of south Delhi.
Instead, what the audience was served over the last 27 episodes was an unimpressive set of “Jamuna Paar” by lanes, a chalet that is filled with caricatures. The characters on lead roles, Vidhi and Bijju, who call each other as Bijjuji and Madamji, are very much in love and rather too dramatically, fantasize privately of each other by these names as well!
Vidhi, aka Madamji, is the docile, honest and modest fashion designer from South Delhi, whom her family does not appreciate.
Here comes in Bijju, who is the owner of a clothes workshop with tailors and weavers in his team, and he is the one who makes things better in Vidhi’s life. However, the doubt remains, whether these 1950s like thoughts will bring enough success to this soap.
