The telly industry has off late launched many serials but it retains a patch of old on it. The very title of the show, which in almost every daily soap seems to be copied from some famous Bollywood songs.
From ongoing TV shows like “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain”, “Kuch Toh Log Kahenge”, “Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai” to recently launched serials like “Kya Huaa Tera Vaada” and “Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha”, it seems that there has been a brain-drain in the industry where the producers no longer can think of a new name for the show!
And it is very clear now that Hindi movie songs have become an easy inspiration for various serials and makers of the serials to strike an emotional chord. Producer Kamlesh Pandey of serial “Ruk Jaana Nahi” said that it has become a process in the telly industry where makers seek for an emotional chord and they find nothing better than a popular lovely song from a Bollywood movie to name their serial.
He said that his serial “Ruk Jaana Nahi” is named after the popular song “Ruk Jaana Nahi” from 1974 hit “Imtihaan”. He also added that these kinds of open ended titles for the TV serials help the scriptwriters to introduce twists in the story as and when required.
Siddharth P Malhotra feels that the names of Bollywood songs not only strikes a chord with the audiences but also adds a sauce to the show which makes it spicy and liked by the audiences. He added that apart from the title the character in the serial are equally important for the show. Thus, he feels that the character of the show is of utmost importance than any other stuff for the show’s success.
Some of the examples to support this article are TV serial “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” whose title is taken from 1976 hit blockbuster “Balika Badhu”. Another one is TV serial “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon” that has taken its title from a song from Kareena-Tusshar starrer flick titled “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai”, another show on telly screens titled “Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo” on “SAB TV” has taken its title from the famous song- ‘Sajan re jhoot mat bolo, khuda ke pass jana hai’ from the hit movie ‘Teesri Kasam’ and so on. Well and on and on, the list seems to get bigger day by day.
We just hope that these names help to run these shows successfully!
