New York, Nov 11 (IANS) Actor-director Billy Crystal is replacing Eddie Murphy as the new Oscar host. This will be the ninth time that Crystal will host the award function.
Murphy had announced recently that he was stepping down from his originally assigned duties after Academy award producer Bret Ratner put in his papers, reports people.com.
“Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show,” Crystal wrote on his Twitter page.
The 84th Academy Awards will take place Feb 26.
